The director stops watching and starts talking to this guy - while Dennis is still acting. What’s probably happened is that some guy saunters in during the blocking rehearsal and starts talking to the director. During blocking rehearsal the set is most often LOCKED DOWN which means the set is cleared of non essential crew so the actors and director and DoP can rehearse and discuss.
